Establishment of the Shandong University-JWGB Pore Size Analysis Joint Laboratory!

On December 17, 2021, the unveiling ceremony of the Shandong University-JWGB Pore Size Analysis Joint Laboratory took place. Based on the principle of collaborative win-win cooperation, the two parties will engage in even closer and more profound strategic collaboration. Leveraging the joint laboratory platform, JWGB and Shandong University will apply JWGB's specific surface area and pore size testing analysis in the fields of environmental catalysis and functional materials. This collaboration aims to contribute more effectively to environmental protection and pioneer new chapters in pore size analysis technology in the field of materials.

Shandong University, with its origins dating back to the establishment of Shandong University Hall in 1901, is recognized as one of the pioneering universities in modern Chinese higher education. Over the past 120 years, Shandong University has adhered to the educational philosophy of "cultivating talents for the world, contributing to the prosperity and strength of the nation." With a commitment to the motto "Learning has no end, and virtue is vast and profound," the university has been vigorous in its efforts, passing down knowledge and traditions. Shandong University has cultivated over 600,000 talents, making significant contributions to the economic and social development of the country and the region.

JWGB, established in 2004, introduced China's first static volumetric nitrogen adsorption instrument, JW-RB, often hailed as the "pioneer of Chinese nitrogen adsorption instruments." Over the past 17 years, JWGB has evolved into a national high-tech enterprise, integrating research and development, manufacturing, sales, and service. It specializes in the research and manufacturing of specific surface area and pore size analyzers, chemical adsorption analyzers, competitive adsorption analyzers, vapor adsorption analyzers, true density analyzers, microreactors, and other analytical instruments. JWGB is a leading manufacturer of material characterization instruments in China, with its products sold in over ten countries and regions worldwide. The company is committed to providing global customers with high-quality, user-friendly, and cost-effective products, aiming to offer comprehensive material characterization solutions.

Professor He Zuoli from the School of Environmental Science at Shandong University pointed out that the current national emphasis on scientific and technological innovation and the call for innovation-driven development and high-quality economic development align with Shandong University's focus on the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. The university places importance on collaborating with industry enterprises, especially leading and well-known companies. The collaboration to establish a joint laboratory is expected to form a long-term mechanism integrating scientific research cooperation, achievement transformation, and talent cultivation. He hopes that the cooperation will revolve around key industry technologies, utilizing the resources and advantages of both the university and the industry, effectively driving technological development.

Deepening industry-university-research cooperation allows enterprises to leverage the strengths of collaborations with research institutions and universities, forming a powerful integrated system for research, development, and production. This approach can effectively address challenges such as a lack of original innovation and insufficient supply of common technologies in the technical field, enhancing the competitiveness of the industry by completing the entire technological innovation chain.

After the ceremony, participants jointly visited the newly established Shandong University-JWGB Pore Size Analysis Joint Laboratory. Subsequent in-depth discussions focused on innovation experiment development, new course construction, and the development of material pore size characterization methods, aiming to transform the joint laboratory into a model for industry-university collaboration in the construction of laboratories.
