Acquisition of German Rubolab Instruments by JWGB

In May 2022, Beijing JWGB Instruments Co., Ltd. (hereafter referred to as JWGB) and German Rubolab GmbH (hereafter referred to as Rubolab) successfully completed the acquisition process. JWGB acquired all tangible and intangible assets of Rubolab, making Rubolab a wholly-owned subsidiary of JWGB in Germany.

Following the acquisition, Rubolab became JWGB's second overseas wholly-owned subsidiary, contributing to JWGB's global market expansion. Rubolab will continue its operations in Dusseldorf, Germany. Prior to this, JWGB acquired U.S.-based Altamira Instruments Inc. (hereafter referred to as AMI) in December 2020, establishing AMI as JWGB's first overseas subsidiary. With the acquisition of Rubolab, the formation of the JWGB/AMI/Rubolab group was realized. Core technical experts from the original Rubolab company joined the newly established group. Simultaneously, Rubolab will function as the European branch of the group, responsible for marketing, technical services, and partial production in Europe. JWGB's Beijing headquarters will oversee all marketing and technical service operations in China (including Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan), while the manufacturing base will handle production of certain products.

Mr. Ma Zhiyuan, General Manager of JWGB, stated, "Since its establishment, JWGB has been dedicated to the research and development of adsorption instruments in the field of material characterization. Rubolab's products perfectly complement our product portfolio in the areas of gravimetric and high-temperature/high-pressure adsorption. With this acquisition, JWGB will possess the most comprehensive range of adsorption instruments worldwide, including dynamic BET surface area analyzers, static BET surface area and pore size analyzers, chemical adsorption analyzers, magnetic suspension balance gravimetric adsorption analyzers, high-temperature/high-pressure adsorption analyzers, competitive gas adsorption analyzers, vapor adsorption analyzers, mercury intrusion porosimeters, and other adsorption characterization instruments. This allows us to offer advanced adsorption characterization solutions to our customers. The establishment of the European and American subsidiaries will significantly expand the breadth and depth of customer service, accelerating advancements in advanced applied research and technology iteration."

Dr. Jens, General Manager of Rubolab, expressed, "The merger with JWGB will enable Rubolab's products, featuring the world's most advanced magnetic suspension balance technology, to be widely promoted globally, especially in the rapidly developing Chinese market. Adsorption products align well with JWGB's existing product portfolio, and the new magnetic suspension balance thermal analysis instrument will be a crucial growth point for the group. It will lead the group from the field of adsorption instruments to thermal analysis instruments, offering many new application scenarios, particularly demonstrating unique performance in corrosive and high-temperature/high-pressure environments compared to traditional electronic balance thermal analyzers."

About JWGB:

Founded in 2004, JWGB introduced China's first static volumetric nitrogen adsorption instrument, JW-RB, hailed as the "pioneer of Chinese nitrogen adsorption instruments."
